Baseball Career Highlights:
"I hit over 200 home runs, played in the East-West All Star Classic in 1957 and won a game with a two-run triple. When I was with the Chicago American Giants, I led the team in double plays. During the 1956-1957 season, I beat the Birmingham Black Barons for a playoff spot with home runs in extra innings. I won the championship with the Kansas City Monarchs. In addition, I was the first black signed in the Piedmont League in Portsmouth, Virginia."

"I earned a two-year college degree and worked as a machine operator for 30 years. I retired in 1990. My wife and I have five children and eight grandchildren."
"Coaching little league baseball and football for 15 years, I've won five football and three baseball championship. As a player/manager for the Jacksonville Cardinals and Jax Majors, I have led the teams to three championships in the past 20 years."
