"I participated in a four-team, doubleheader at the Polo Grounds, in New York City. The teams were the Newark Eagles, New York Cubans, Homestead Grays and Baltimore Elite Giants. I had an opportunity to meet and play against the legends of the game."
Professional/Personal Accomplishments:
"After serving in the U.S. Army during World War II, I returned home and earned a B.S. degree in Business Administration from North Carolina A&T College, in Greensboro. I was a teacher in the Baltimore City School System for 30 years and retired in 1984. For more than 40 years, I coached baseball at the little league, high school and college levels."
"When I retired, I opened a small retail store, Simmons, Inc. which sells customized clothing, uniforms, etc., for teams, churches, schools and fraternal organizations. In addition, I am a member of the Lochearn Presbyterian Church, the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity and the James Moshei Associates Little League."
