Professional/Personal Accomplishments:
Playing with the Chicago Cubs from 1959-1962, Altman was a National League All Star in 1961 and 1962. He played with the St. Louis Cardinals and New York Mets in 1963 and 1964, respectively. Returning to Chicago in 1965, Altman remained with the Cubs franchise until 1967. In 1975, he concluded his baseball career in Japan, where he played seven years.
Returning to Chicago, Altman worked for the Board of Trade. Currently, he trades commodities out of his home and has a prepaid legal services business. In addition, he volunteers with the Boys Foundation and mentors youth within the community.
