Baseball Career Highlights:
During Evelyn's five year absence from professional baseball, he played for the U.S. Navy in Atlantic City, New Jersey. When he returned to the Negro Leagues' New York Black Yankees in 1955, he posted a 19-6 record.

Professional/Personal Accomplishments:
After ending his professional baseball career, Evelyn worked with the U.S. Postal Service for 34 years. He retired in 1994.
